Chocolate chip cookies

Today I have the all American chocolate chip cookie. 
The best ever, in fact.  Imho.
That is,  if you love yours semi-soft and chewy. 

Just give 'em a try 
But you have to let me know what you think. 

It goes pretty standard.  Except for the secret ingredient.

Cream together:

1 C Butter
1 C white sugar
1 C packed brown sugar

Add in two eggs, separately.

Then add in 2 tsps vanilla

Dissolve and add to batter:

1 tsp baking soda in 2 tsp hot water

Stir in:

1 tsp salt
1-1/2 C flour
1-1/2 C ground oatmeal.  Not too fine.  Should sorta look like cornmeal maybe a tad bigger. 
             Chop, then measure
2 C chocolate chips
1 C chopped nuts, optional.

At this point you could throw in just about anything else you desire.  I've done coconut, M&M's and other semi-soft candies.
